The farewell might go on the edge of time and space or, say, between a pledge to call me and a flight into the dark side of the Moon, a hug that seems to hark back to the heaven's garden and a thought of the infernal future where you're not, but rather than hand-wringing, weeping in a tardy tenderness, a sense akin to a compunction for the causeless bliss we gave each other - an impassive kiss, an awkward hush, a gloomy afternoon and a despaired wish to see you soon.
