Journey into the far North
You walked alone
in Northern lands
on no-man's paths
through autumn graveyards
ancient gates
to human hearts.
You knew:
the knowledge of these parts
would mar your joys.
You could have scorned,
you could have turned -
it was your choice.
You did not close
dead eyes
for right or wrong.
You had to heal
hurt hearts, weak minds -
for you are strong.
In shallow graves
they stirred, they cried.
You heard the souls.
You went from light
into dead night
and made it yours.
