  Biocentrism of Robert Lanza

Biocentrism [1] and Neuron world picture [2] have a lot in common. The latter may even become the rationale for Biocentrism at the physical level. It is only necessary to clarify - yes, Life creates the Universe, and not vice versa. But Life is not in a biological, but in a neuron meaning

Let's start with the general. The most important thing is the general understanding that the main goal of Science is to explain life and consciousness. But not the calculation of lasers or accelerators. And not even Higgs bosons, Big Bang, Black holes...
And that this main goal in the framework of traditional academic science is fundamentally unattainable. Moreover, the main road of academic science leads in a diametrically opposite direction. Into the impasse of applied, pragmatic physics. It is impossible to understand the development of life and consciousness in the atomistic picture of the world.
Also, the general idea is that the observed (Visible) world does not consist of permanently existing things, but of events - acts of observation of the Universe. In the intervals between the acts of observation, no things exist - neither elementary particles, nor large objects. In these intervals, the Universe exists in indefinite probabilistic states - in fact, in the unobservable, that is, the Invisible world. In the absence of events in the Neural Picture of the World, the array of neural signals (analog of the wave function) changes according to the Schrödinger equation - continuously, without reduction. And after the completed act of observation, this array changes abruptly, which corresponds to the reduction in traditional physics [3].
Another general property - understanding of idea that physics should start with postulating the properties of the Observer, not the properties of space and time. That space and time are not fundamental essences of nature, but only
subconscious illusions arising from the Observer in the process of perceiving the flow of external information.
And this is where the discrepancies begin. Biocentrism believes that this Observer must have consciousness - nothing less. I follow Poincaré's ideas that consciousness is not at all necessary for this. It is quite enough that the Observer has an associative memory in which he distributes the flow of sensations given to him, just as we distribute our sensations - in the categories of space and time [4-6].
In the neuron picture of the world, the model of such an Observer is any coherent physical object. It is only necessary to emphasize that the minimal, simplest physical object in the neural picture of the world is not a particle itself. But the entire system of observation of a given particle - including the source of particles and detectors that register this particle. Such a physical object is represented as a fragment of a complex number neural network [3], which, presumably, has the required associative memory.
Thus, in the neural picture of the world, each physical object, in principle, is able to observe itself and for this it does not require any additional conscious observers at all. At the same time, the fundamental basis for understanding the Universe is not biological life and consciousness - as in Biocentrism. But that the simplest personal properties are inherent in even the most elementary physical objects - not possessing either life (in the sense of the way protein bodies exist) or consciousness.
In the neural picture of the world, as in Biocentrism, the fundamental nodes of reality are neurons. But in Biocentrism, these are the neurons of the central nervous system of an intelligent being. And in the neural picture of the world, these are invisible, unobservable neurons that make up the invisible neural network - the basis of the Universe.
We can say that in the neuron picture of the world, Biocentrism somewhat shifts its center - indeed, life creates the universe. But this life is not in the biological, but in the neuron sense - when any physical object is already partly a personality, and, therefore, partly alive. And at the same time, the insurmountable (in atomism) line between the living and the inanimate is erased.
In Biocentrism, there is a temptation to draw a conclusion about the subjectivity of the reality given to us in the sensation - because everyone has their own neurons of the nervous system. And in the neuron picture of the world, this reality is quite objective - because the neural network of the Universe is the same for all observers.
It is another matter that, in addition to the simplest, physical objects, other fragments, more complex, more developed, can (and even should) exist in the same neural network. So they can serve as a model even for intelligent beings. This assumption is the main meaning of the neural picture of the world. And these developed beings may well influence the behavior of physical objects [7]. And even manage them [8].
And the method of controlling physical objects is similar to the fundamental structure of the Universe - Nature creates the now visible neural tissue from nerve cells in the image and likeness of an invisible Universal neural network. And it is absolutely correct - there is no need to produce superfluous entities. It is much more rational to use already proven, reliable methods.
But this secondary neural network (familiar to us as a nervous system) serves only as a transmission link from a true personality entity from the Invisible World to the visible actions of the physical body. True personality entity is based on invisible, unobservable neurons and the connections between them.
The array of neural signals of a developed personality is similar to the wave function of a physical object and is not directly observed in the physical world. The matrix of connections between neurons is similar to the Hamiltonian of a physical object and is also unobservable. That is, it can be argued that a developed personality entity from the Invisible World controls the observed physical body as long as there are invisible neural connections between these two fragments of the neural network [8].
Developed personalitys can focus on managing individual organisms, but they can generalize in themselves the collective properties of society and nature. Perhaps, in the struggle of such generalizing personalities in virtual, parallel worlds, our single real world was formed - the only possible combination, fine-tuning of world constants and parameters was carefully selected [2].
Thus, it is in the neural picture of the world that one can at least speculatively understand how Life (in the neural sense) creates the Universe (including the biological form of life and consciousness). And thus, to achieve the main goal of Biocentrism - and science in general.
The fundamental drawback of Biocentrism is that, despite loud promises, it never received a physical foundation. And as a result, Biocentrism remains a set of philosophical reasoning. Along with the noosphere, the morphogenetic field, etc. Such a philosophy will never be fully recognized by academic science until there is at least a speculative physical foundation.
And the neural picture of the world is directly based on the extrapolation of the Schrödinger equation outside of applied physics. In this sense, the neural picture of the world is a physical picture because it is based on a physical foundation. Just like the atomistic picture of the world is based on a similar extrapolation from physics to ethics.
The dominance of atomism in modern science is provided solely by the fact that it was the first in history just the physical picture of the world, but not only abstract philosophizing [9]. That is why the neural picture of the world may well become the physical foundation for Biocentrism and, thereby, legitimize it within the framework of academic science.
