STAGE 3: CANOPIAN INSTITUTE OF WAR

  
   Magistracy of Canopus affiliation only.
   The expansion of military industries has also allowed for the rapid expansion of the MAF itself, and with that came the need for more skilled officers. The rebuilt Canopian Institute of War has been considered the Magistracy's top officers' school since it was rebuilt after the Jihad. The CIW's budget is expanded slightly each year by the Magestrix, allowing for further growth in the military and giving the MAF a larger number of qualified graduates each year. Less respected is the still-faltering Emma Centrella Martial Academy. With the focus on the CIW, the ECMA receives less funding and is almost always overshadowed by the other academy in all areas. In recent years, there have been ongoing talks on ending the MechWarrior training program at the ECMA entirely, and to focus on better training for vehicle commanders and infantry officers only.

   Traits: Contact, Well-Equipped. Promotion to Lance Corporal (Rank 6), for non-officers only; if the character is already a Lance Corporal, she or he receive next Enlisted Rank.
   Skills: Academic/Military History +2, Leadership +2, Protocol/Magistracy of Canopus +2, Tactics/Any +4. Add +2 to all Basic Training skills and choose five: Acting +4, Administration +3, Art/Any +4, Blades +3, Bureaucracy/Magistracy of Canopus +3, Computer/Any +3, Fast Talk +4, First Aid +5, Interest/Any +4, Interrogation +3, Intimidation +3, Language/Any +3, Martial Arts/Any +3, MedTech +3, Negotiation/Any +4, Pistols +3, Protocol/Capellan Confederation or Mercenary +3, Scrounge +4, Seduction +4, Streetwise +3, Survival/Any +3, Swimming +3.
   Fields: choose one of following:
  -- Aerospace Pilot (minimum DEX 4, RFL 4)
  -- Armored Infantry (minimum STR 6, BOD 6)
  -- Cavalry
  -- DropShip Pilot (minimum DEX 4, may not have TDS trait)
  -- Infantry
  -- MechWarrior (minimum DEX 4, RFL 4)
  -- Ship's Crew (may not have TDS trait)
   Previous Path: Tour of Duty: Inner Sphere or Periphery (4, see Path Restrictions)
   Next Path: Tour of Duty: Inner Sphere or Periphery (4)
   Path Restriction: Entry by event roll (10+ on Tour of Duty: Inner Sphere or 17+ on Tour of Duty: Periphery) or through with a Contact (2), represent senior officer of character's regiment

   Graduates of the CIW are not only a skilled MechWarriors, but they also throw wild parties, a trademark of their homeland [WIL -2, Seduction +4, Poison Resistance, Quirk/Unable to Refuse Drink]

   You're a military protege and not only did you graduate at the top of your class but they sent you off to fight for the our beloved allies [Combat Sense, Sixth Sense, +4 to five Military Field skills, Contact (2), may take OCS and/or the Tour of Duty: Capellan Confederation (4) path next, ignoring the path's prerequisites]
