Grey stuff

  there are a lot of tedious, boring, assommant occupations.
  
  
  I am a tedious guy, a bore, so throughout my life
  
  I was very often busy with boring subjects.
  
  
  One guy once said to me(he was a medic):
  
  
  ther is now nothing boring for me.
  
  
  For some, medicine is a boring and repellent subject;
  
  my mother was enthralled by it,
  
  she could not stand physics and engineering, though loved math;
  
  
  I liked math and programming very much while in the high(math and physics) school,
  
  but hated both math and physics in the college even dropped out from there.
  
  
  Programming I liked in high school, and liked to study LISP theoretically,
  
  but when, late in life, I got a computer of my own and began to implement C,
  
  I got very much bored by it. I became insane as a programmer.
  
  
  Earlier, in the Institute of Cardiology, when I first had had a contact with a PC,
  
  the grey screen also bored me very much.
  
  
  But, twenty years later, when I had a chance to guess among five grey cards one that would
  
  open into a picture by an Old Master, I could spend hours before my monitor
  
  endlessly clicking on one of five grey rectangles(stargazer II).
  
  
  In my youth, I had a grey-covered Oxford English monolingual dictionary and I've read and reread it endlessly,
  
  spoiling all the pages with my mars of 'learned' and 'not-so-learned' words.
  
  
  I worked 12 hours a day on a factory, trying to do Buddhist meditation while I worked so that it would not be so boring,
  
  
  but this kind of grey is not like guessing grey cards in ESP-experiment.
  
  
  Grey skies and grey Soviet architecture made me leave Leningrad.
  
  
  Science is generally a very grey matter.
  
  
  You have to have unexhaustable patience, undertaking thousands of identical, routine operations every day.
  
  
  Not everybody is suited to it. Most people prefer theater, show, attraction, sex, drink, ТV,
  unable to escape the narcotic of daily drama, be it in politics, in soap operas or videо game.
