Leg' deinen Kopf, wo mein Herz einmal war, 
Halt die Erde über mich. 
Leg dich ins grüne Gras ,
Erinner', du liebtest mich .

Komm'  näher ohne Angst ,
Regen fällt vom Himmelsreich ,
Der Mond ist riesengroß ,
Denk' an mich, wenn ein Zug fährt vorbei .
 
Räum Dist'l und Brommbeer ,
Pfeif'  "Didn't He Ramble." 
Jetzt bleibt nur ein Hauch von mir 
Und es atmet in dir. 

Steh' im Schatten von mir ,
Dinge entstehn aus mir. 
Die Wetterfahne im Wind 
Heut' nach'm Regen riecht .

Gott nahm Sterne, stoß  nach unten ,
Schweigen Vögel von Blüten. 
Du wirst nie frei von mir, 
Er macht einen Baum aus mir. 

Nimm keinen Abschied von mir ,
Beschreib' den Himmel  mir .
Wenn's  Himmel fällt, merk' mein Wort, 
Fangen Drosselln wir .
