The Monologue about a reading about Watson and about a pure English logic

The Monologue about a reading about Watson and about a pure English logic

When I saw the list of publications of the author "Alexander Zhdanov 2" (I, like, did the request of a name and a middle name, but, it seems, did not receive the answer), I understood from only one list that works deserve attention and reading.

It was difficult to find a time for more detailed acquaintance to works from the list.

Asked council the author: what will he to me recommend to read? As I understood the answer, it would be correct to read all works.

This morning I solved to rely on will of events and to read at least one of works.

Opened the section. A nice photo. More precisely, so to say: the good face.

"It is written reviews: 889". It is a lot of!

  "Readers: 13,807"! People read!

"History and policy". I open a link.

It seems, I wrote something about Arthur Conan Doyle. I will read "Elementary, Watson! Or purely English logic".

If I correctly understood, then the text consists of two paragraphs:

"-Holmes, how you managed to establish that the murderer of mister who was shot yesterday on Baker Street most likely (highly likely) Russian? You were not even on the crime scene!

  - Elementary, Watson! Newspapers write that somewhere there nearby found a sleeve [patrone (munition)] from a Kalashnikov! But the designer of the automatic machine, as we know, - Russian!"

Sherlock Holmes is (just) a detective. Even if he established, "that the murderer of mister who was shot yesterday on Baker Street most likely (highly likely) Russian", then it ... highly likely.

Of course, I heard about Sherlock Holmes and read.

But, just in case, I open article "Sherlock Holmes" in Wikipedia.

"Circulation of "Strand" increased from two hundred to five hundred thousand copies a month, Conan Doyle was the most popular author of the magazine and received the unprecedented royalties - 50 pounds for the story. Stories about Holmes allowed Conan Doyle to leave the unsuccessful London practice of the ophthalmologist in 1891 and to focus entirely on literary activity".

Here is successful Sherlock Holmes! He lived in the correct country (and lives)! Authors in this country can not to use indefinitely Internet platforms, and to earn money with literary work.

"From February to September, 1880 Doyle as the ship doctor spent seven months in the Arctic waters onboard the whaling vessel "Hope" (English Hope is "Hope"), having received for work in total 50 pounds. "I ascended aboard this ship the big clumsy young man, and descended on a ladder the strong adult man" - he wrote later to the autobiography. Impressions of the Arctic travel formed the basis of the story "Captain of "Pole Star"" (English Captain of the Pole-Star). Two years later it did a similar voyage to the Western coast of Africa onboard the steamship "Mayoumba" (English Mayumba) plying between Liverpool and the western coast of Africa.

Having gained the university diploma and degree of the bachelor of medicine in 1881, Conan Doyle was engaged in medical practice, at first joint (with extremely unfair partner - this experience was described in "Starck Munro's Notes"), then individual, in Portsmouth. At last, in 1891 Doyle decided to make literature the main occupation".

Somehow vaguely reminiscent of a biography of Anton Chekhov (and even Maxim Gorky), but no (long-term) sawing ("cutting out") of feuilletons (for kopeks).

  But let's not get distracted.

Let's return to Holmes and Watson's dialogue. Let's take into account that Holmes established "that the murderer of mister who was shot yesterday on Baker Street most likely (highly likely) Russian".

And what legal significance does that have?

How to say? ... No significance?...

Holmes is a private citizen, he is not in the public service. "As well as the author no ... talks about any other, in addition to private investigation, the work (job) of his protagonist."

I will assume that cases of murders in the homeland of Holmes are considered by juries.

Therefore, in a private conversation with Watson Holmes can make the different assumptions and assertions. For anybody these assumptions and statements in itself will not entail any consequences.

In Russia there is a jury too.

Again Wikipedia. Article "Kvachkov, Vladimir Vasilyevich". "In 2005 he was arrested on a charge of attempt at the head of RAO UES of Russia Anatoly Chubais. After 3 years imprisonment on June 5, 2008 he was justified by jury. On December 22, 2010 the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the verdict of not guilty".

Very well. Even if Sherlock Holmes would accuse Kvachkov in of murder of mister, "who was shot on Baker Street yesterday", then Kvachkov in a distant places wouldn't be.

In the press, it seems, there were notes about the book written by Kvachkov ...

But we will not go into this topic. Holmes with Watson discussed only "sleeve" [patrone (munition)], the book a subject of their conversation, it seems, did not become ...

Photos are in Wikipedia ... "Vladimir Kvachkov in the first row in a military uniform ..."

"Holmes, how you managed to establish that the murderer of mister who was shot yesterday on Baker Street most likely (highly likely) Russian?" ...
