Half an hour ago I heard on the radio a new comment on the negotiations about the peace Treaty and the destiny of the Kuriles.
More and more often there are different kinds of commentaries on this issue.
Density of a flow of information on this question reached such level that I decided to approach the computer and to present my own views on this issue.
Firstly, the main achievements of Russia in Siberia - establishment of border along Amur River - are connected with Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky's actions. These are about 1850-1860 years (naturally, the 19th century).
Muravyov-Amursky there was a vigorous, patriotic, talented man. But in foreign policy are insufficient of qualities of one person. Let's take, suppose, the admiral Nakhimov - unless he was not a vigorous, patriotic, talented person?
Whom to thank for "the main achievements of Russia in Siberia"?
Who is interested, that can read historical works. Perhaps, such interested person will come to conclusions, unexpected for himself.
Secondly, activity of Russia in Asia is noted by such "milestones" as Manchuria (1904-1905), Korea and Afghanistan.
If we take these considerations together, then they induce to extreme care. Perhaps, people are necessary who do not seek to leave the Far East , and - who considering this earth native and desired for life? People with education, experience, economic potential? Suddenly with the appearance of such people - all problems will begin to be solved by itself. Well... If not "by itself", then to general pleasure and to the general advantage?
Someone will tell: Manchuria, Korea, Afghanistan are far (rather far) history.
Then let's look at the "nearest" history.
It is interesting to hear the list of recent diplomatic achievements?
Just don't tell about Venezuela! (With full respect to Venezuela). Some other names are not called to avoid excess animosity.
Where these Talleyrands, which could undertake similar negotiations?
All these reasons induce not to some steps, unclear for wide public, and to care, experience accumulation, to creation of conditions for appearance of patriotic people with education, experience, economic potential.
Yes, forgot... Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky did attempts on formation of such population in Siberia and in the Far East. And - not unsuccessfully...
