    A comical incident in correspondence with the publisher. The editor's (or rather secretary's) name was removed. At its core, this letter is a testament to the universal academic struggle: trying to get your work published. It's a process that requires immense patience, resilience, and the ability to find humor in the cyclical nature of submissions, rejections, and revisions. I am, like countless others, stuck in that loop, doing my best to finally break through. This endeavor mirrors the Sisyphian task of pushing a boulder up a hill, only for it to roll down again-each resubmission a renewed effort toward the elusive peak of publication. Yet, like Sisyphus, we must imagine the scholar happy in the pursuit itself, even when the outcome remains frustratingly out of reach.

   Dear Ms. N, Good day.
   I hope this letter finds you well.
   As a prelude to my resubmission, allow me to share a couple of light-hearted ancient Greek anecdotes that seem fitting for our scholarly exchange. In one tale from the life of Socrates (c. 470-399 BCE), the philosopher once scolded a lazy student who arrived late to his lessons, exclaiming, "You wander like a ship without a rudder, chasing shadows instead of truth-now run laps around the agora until your mind catches up with your feet!" Another, drawn from Diogenes the Cynic (c. 412-323 BCE), involves the philosopher berating a sluggish pupil: "You lie about like a dog in the sun, but even my lantern searches for an honest man more diligently than you seek knowledge-fetch water from the well ten times, or admit you're too lazy for wisdom!" These stories remind us how Greek mentors "chased" their errant students toward enlightenment, much like an editor guides an author.
   On a similar note, recalling Aesop's fable "The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" (from Aesop, c. 620-564 BCE), a foolish shepherd fails to see beyond the disguise, mistaking the predator for a friend until it's too late. The moral? A fool often overlooks the hidden depths of reality, blinded by surface appearances-much like missing the deeper meaning in a text or submission.
   With these whimsical nods to Greek heritage in mind, I am resubmitting my manuscript, "Psychohistory and Psychopoetics: Freudian Roots and Ancient Greek Symbolism," to the Journal Psychology, published by the Hellenic Psychological Society (Ελληνική Ψυχολογική Εταιρεία, ΕΛΨΕ). I have taken your kind feedback to heart and made substantial revisions to align with the journal's high standards and submission guidelines at https://ejournals.epublishing.ekt.gr/index.php/psychology/about/submissions. I have restructured the paper: added a dedicated Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion sections. The manuscript now exceeds 8,000 words-approximately 9,500-to provide a more robust theoretical framework while maintaining academic rigor.
   Your polite rejection prompted me to reflect, much like an anecdote Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) shared anecdotally: A young scholar once sent him a manuscript for review. Freud agreed but found the external presentation off-putting, so he set it aside. Despite intentions to read it, something internal "resisted"-perhaps unconscious resistance or projection-and it lay untouched for over six months. Finally, Freud returned it, admitting, "I cannot evaluate it." Similarly, dear colleague, might something be "gnawing" at you beyond frustration-perhaps cognitive dissonance, transference, or latent ambivalence? Electronic submissions today feel as intimate as face-to-face encounters-eyes meeting across the digital divide-yet they can evoke the same subtle resistances. If my revisions still fall short, I kindly ask you to specify the precise issues; otherwise, it risks feeling like a form letter, labeling me "blind and inattentive" (τυφλός και απρόσεκτος) for overlooking your guidelines.
   Regarding the CV and title page in my initial submission: Many other journals require them for initial acquaintance, fostering a sense of personal connection. I apologize if this seemed presumptuous; it was meant to introduce myself informally. On a personal note, my mother's side hails from Greek roots, instilling in me a deep love for this resilient homeland I've never visited, and a desire to honor it through scholarship that bridges psychoanalysis and Hellenic symbolism.
   If the paper's flaws were merely formal-formatting over substance-I sincerely regret "stealing" your time (furtum temporis, as the Latins might say). I have uploaded the revised version via the journal's portal and eagerly await your guidance.
