Itachi woke up to the presence of someone nearby. Many years of experience and intuition suggested that the man who entered silently did not feel bloodlust and had no evil intentions, so he rightly thought that one of the children had come back to their room with his older brother.
Yui, the youngest boy, often came to Shisui. During the day, he held on, even smiled shyly sometimes, tried very hard in training and was already well developed for his three years, although he was silent almost all the time. But at night, when no one had control over his thoughts and fears, he often came and stood silently in their room until Shisui woke up and laid him down next to him. A couple of times, at the very beginning of their lives, nyako-ninja had a slightly older boy, Renzo. But then, after talking with Shisui, he somehow calmed down and stayed asleep at home.
Then Itachi remembered that Yui had already arrived, and, in confirmation, he heard a soft sniff, which echoed the breathing of his older brother. He opened his eyes, surprised to find Sasuke by the bed, who was also hiding his chakra quite successfully. That's why Itachi thought of the youngest ones, who didn't even have enough chakra to recognize it yet.
Rising up, he activated his sharingan to get a better look at his younger brother's focused face.
"Why aren't you sleeping, Ototo?" he whispered, getting up from the sofa.
Sasuke shrugged his shoulders in response and sighed softly, continuing to crumple. Almost immediately after that conversation about the death of his parents, Itachi went on a mission that the Old Cat had obtained, and when he returned, various things piled up. He remembered that he had only scolded his brother at the parish, and they did not speak again.
"Let's go," touching Sasuke's shoulder, Itachi called after him.
His brother followed him noiselessly. The children's room was quiet, and Itachi was glad that no one was crying into the pillows anymore.
They went out into the hallway and turned onto a small balcony.
"I'm sorry, I was running too fast", he began the conversation by sitting down on the parapet and leaning against the wall. Sasuke thought about it and took the same position, mirroring his pose.
"I've been thinking about your words." Looking down, the younger brother said.
"About priorities. You were right. I should have stayed with Mina and Yumi.... And I wanted to deal with this strange wolf to prove to myself that I was strong and could handle it."
"But on the other hand, those who don't make mistakes don't learn from them. And if you can fix it, then it's not considered a mistake", Itachi smiled slyly. "And so the girls have awakened dojutsu ... it's not so bad. It's just that Aniki taught you a lesson for the future. I believe that next time you will be more careful and think over all your actions.... And you will be able to protect the rear without damage to the attack."
"I'll try," Sasuke smiled briefly, immediately hiding his joy behind a serious expression, and Itachi thought again that his younger brother had somehow matured quickly.
He sighed and thought about how he could use his own advice. Hiding from a powerful organization forever will not work, and if they find out about his "back"... His new family may be in great danger. For now, they are hiding in another dimension, but in the spring, when the agreement with Nakomata expires, it will be difficult.
"How are you, Sasuke?" looking at the rising moon, Itachi asked. The language did not turn to say "without mom and dad," but the younger brother seemed to understand him.
"I... it's okay, nii-san. I have you. Brother Shisui, Naruto, Yumi, Kazuki, Mina, Seng, the little ones. If I was left alone... I don't want to think about it", Sasuke fell silent, also looking at the sky.
"Let's go to sleep..." Itachi suggested, but he heard a strange rumbling and saw two eyes burning with green light.
"I don't understand meow," it was heard near the entrance to the balcony, "what are the people-nya doing here-nya?!"
Itachi realized that he and his brother had gone out without a disguise.
"Sasuke, henge!" he commanded, making shadowy white ears on his head and blocking his brother. He did not lose his head and performed the transformation of himself with ears with a soft "fluff".

Itachi could barely contain his smile. Thinking about the problems of the future, he completely forgot about the immediate situation, and he almost got into trouble out of the blue, along with his brother. Mentally scolding himself for his relaxation and lack of vigilance, Itachi commanded:
"Hurry to the bathroom and go to sleep!"
