  Part 1. Chapter 7. A Strange encounter
"May I see your passports, young people?" It was asked by a polite, balding man in semicircular glasses, who was sitting at the counter in a hotel that Harry and I liked.
We both looked at each other and hesitated.
"And I forgot at home..." Harry muttered, quickly shooting his eyes at me. "Excuse me, but can I have no documents?"
  "I'm sorry, but no."
"We moved away from the counter."
"Ask Kreacher to deliver your documents," I whispered.
"If only I still had them. I don't have a Muggle passport, and wizards use a wand and magic as identification tools."
Well, yes, Shinobi have the same thing - except for the chakra and the personal file code on the back of the hitai, there are also no "documents".
"Tell me, what do these documents look like? So that I can make shadow copies."
"Well..." Harry hesitated, "I should have looked at Emma and Jess. I can't explain it to you on my fingers. Uncle Vernon keeps them in his wallet...."
"Then we'll have to rob someone to look at the documents." I grinned at him. "I've already decided to stay here, it's interesting how everything works here in hotels.... But, in principle, you can get in and spend the night in the room."
"Oh, well..." said Harry. "I won't even be able to sleep then, worrying that we'll... that we'll be discovered."
"Well, yes, I agreed with his arguments." You can forget about the rest. "Constant vigilance will be required."
  Harry giggled for some reason.
  "what?"
"We have a former auror in the Order of the Phoenix who also talks about constant vigilance. As he barks in my ear: "Constant vigilance!". You'll jump right up."
"If I'd been vigilant, I'd have thrown some kind of spell at him so he wouldn't sneak up on me anymore." I chuckled, and Harry seemed to be seriously thinking.
We left the hotel, and I almost fell, tripping over something, or rather over someone. So, damn, we agreed on "constant vigilance", I myself am completely relaxed here. Only by a miracle I didn't trample the child. Stop. A child?
"Girl, what are you doing here so late?" Harry turned his head to look for the adults, and so did I. There were no adults.
"Hey, I know her," I said, moving closer to the light streaming from the hotel windows. This girl was at the cafe where Emma and Jess and I had dinner.
"Jessie," the girl repeated after me, staring at us with all her eyes, and pointing at herself with her finger.
"Is your name Jessica?" Harry asked.
"Uh-huh, I'm Jessica," the little one was delighted by such understanding.
"How did she end up here? It's more than a block from the Elephant House to this hotel..." Harry asked me absently.
"Ale you Hally Pottel?" it was also addressed to me, but from a girl.
And in the burr of his pronunciation, I recognized the name of the wizard who had summoned me here. We exchanged glances at the same time.
"Are you talking about Harry Potter, Jessica?" I asked her carefully.
"Yeah, you'le Hally Pottel, I've seen magic," she said.
Harry enlightened me last night about the magical "international statute of secrecy." Of course, we can't say that every dog knows about the hidden village, and even more so its location, which is why it is hidden. But almost everyone knows about the existence of Shinobi as such. And for them, the wizards, only the wizards themselves and those involved, for example, Muggles, the wizard's parents or siblings, who did not have magic, know about the existence of magic and themselves. I didn't feel any magic in the girl. And no one else in that cafe, so it was very strange to hear Harry's name coming from a three-year-old girl.
"Hey, baby, how do you know about Harry?" I smiled broadly. My appearance always helps when working with a "client", strangers and children usually trust me, which is important in our work. No one tells them that I'm "a little bit of a demon."
"My mom is wliting a story about you. About Hally Pottel. Whele ale youl lound glasses?" She pointed with her hands at how round Harry Potter's glasses should be, and that made him shudder, as if something was beginning to sink in.
"Little girls shouldn't walk alone in the dark. Let's take you to your mom." I said kindly to the child. "And you'll tell us everything at the same time."
"Nice," Jessica agreed, smiling. "But did you show me any magic?"
After thinking about it, I made a shadowy soft green frog. Who would believe a three-year-old girl if they don't believe in "magic" here?
"I'm sorry, but she'll disappear when we get to your mom, okay?" I handed the girl a temporary gift.
"Kelmit!"she immediately named the toy, hugging it to her.
"Jessie, do you know where your house is?" Harry asked the girl, who was engrossed in cuddling the frog.
"Yes, next to Aunt Dee's house..." was the comprehensive answer.
"I think we should take her to the cafe where I saw her. The owner seems to know her there. Come on, Jessica." She took my hand, holding the toy tightly to her with the other.
"Hey, how does she know my name?" Harry whispered in my ear.
"Yeah, well done, you're thinking fast," I chuckled softly.
"Considering that the woman in the cafe was her mom, who writes a story about you, and yet she's not a wizard at all, but a simple Muggle, it's fucking weird."
"Jessie, why don't you ride on my neck?" I asked the girl because we were walking very slowly, and she seemed tired. She squealed joyfully and clung to me.
We reached the Elephant House, but the cafe was already closed.
"It's already a quarter past ten," Harry looked at his watch. "They closed fifteen minutes ago.
"Jessica! Jessie!" there were screams in the street. "Jessica!"
  Harry and I hurried there.
"Mom!" apparently, my passenger recognized the voice.
The same woman from the cafe ran out to us. Slightly disheveled, scared and confused.
"Oh my God, Jessie! You've been found! My girl! Baby!"
I took the girl off my neck, not forgetting to put the toy away. She ran to her mother, hugging her neck.
"Mom! I was assaulted by Gally Pottel! He's a leal wizald, I saw for myself!" the girl immediately turned us in.
"Excuse her," the woman smiled sheepishly. "I started writing a story, and she is my only listener. Thanks for finding her, boys."
Jessica darted back to us and clung to me.
  "Mom, they're magicians!"
"I'm sorry," the woman was embarrassed again. "We live nearby. Would you like some tea?"
"Of course," I smiled broadly. "We'd love to, wouldn't we, friend?"
"Don't think that I'm... Jessie.... I turned away for just a minute, and she disappeared somewhere."
"I'm looking fol wizalds, Mom", the girl was indignant, who kept trying to explain to her mother why she had left. "Well, it looks like there was more than just a cat in those bushes."
"I'm Joanna," the girl's mother introduced herself to us.
"My name is Nart, and this is RJ, we arrived from London today", I smiled broadly, sending rays of kindness, and the slightly nervous woman relaxed.
  ***
"So what kind of story are you writing?" I asked when we reached a small apartment in a two-story building with tall checkered windows.
"I'm writing a story about a boy wizard," Joanna smiled shyly again after sipping her tea. "However, so far this story is of little interest to anyone, many publishers have refused me. They say they don't want to study children's literature."
"Maybe you can tell us what this story is about?" I smiled. "After all, Jessica considered me the hero of your story, and my friend and I are curious."
"Mom, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, but you can't heal me! It's definitely Hally Potter!" Jessica protested.
"I'll put her to bed. Sorry, I'll be back soon", Our hostess tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"It's kind of weird," Harry whispered to me when the woman left.
"Take it easy, RJ," we'll find out soon enough.
