Jane (Eri) enters the body of Louise le Valliere about five years ago, Louise disappears and she remains in the body alone with her memory and relatives. It's a good thing that the skills of the flame knight have been preserved, even with magic and tension. During the transition to the second year, she calls the Japanese as a familiar. A vortex of events is spinning in Trystine, affecting the whole world.

Renobe ZERO'S FAMILIAR

The Kingdom of Magic

Chapter 1: I am a Familiar

"Who are you?" The girl asked, as if she had stepped out of the blue sky behind her, gazing intently at Saito's face. Dressed in a white blouse under a black vest and gray trousers under a black raincoat, she bent down and seemed to be puzzled, peering into Saito's face.
I absolutely didn't like what I saw in this guy. He's kind of preoccupied and totally fucked up. That's why he came into my portal to summon a familiar. On the stage, created by light pink hair and skin so white that it seemed transparent, the main role was played by gray eyes.
Saito was lying on his back on the ground. He raised his head and looked around. A lot of people with black cloaks draped over their shoulders looked at him in surprise. Well, my classmates are shocked. Not only did this spell not work properly for me, but the commoner also fell out.
A plain covered with dense grass stretched around. In the distance, a huge castle built of stone could be seen. Well, the Tristain school of magic simply amazes uninitiated people.
The boy lay down on the grass again and said:
   "Who... I am Hiraga Saito."
"Where are you from, commoner?" The teenagers gathered around, dressed in the same uniform as this girl, were holding some objects that looked like sticks in their hands.
I've been trying to find out more about this asshole who poked his nose into the portal. I've been sleeping in the body of Louise le Valliere for five years now. Initially, we lived in a body together, but at some point after another magical catastrophe, which the girl was capable of, I live in Louise's body alone. And I have full control of my body. Unfortunately, I only have my combat and alchemy skills left. Oh well. I managed to transform back into a dragon at least two years ago. Because of the magically active body, because when I was Shepard, I still couldn't do it, even though my body underwent a transformation after Torfan.
The guy was lying on the grass in silence, looking at us in shock.
"Louise, after summoning a commoner with the Summon Helper spell, what are you going to do?" someone asked, and everyone except me, who was staring intently at Saito's face, laughed...
"I was just a little bit wrong!" I shouted in a graceful voice that penetrated everywhere like the ringing of a bell.
"You keep saying that you made a mistake, don't you?"
"That's why she's Louisa the Nootie! Someone said, and the crowd burst out laughing." Yes, my name is Louise now. And what. Damn, the name Jane was fine with me. I still couldn't remember my name as a dragon hunter.
   "Mr. Colbert!" I exclaimed.
The crowd parted, and a middle-aged man appeared. Saito was amused. After all, the man had too unusual an appearance for a modern person. The idiot still didn't understand where he was or in what sense.
My mentor was holding a large wooden staff in his hand and was wrapped in a robe as black as night. Saito decided to keep a low profile until he realized the true state of things.
I couldn't stop talking in desperation. "Let me try again!", "Well, please! Well, maybe there will be a cat at least this time?!" I said, waving my arms noisily.
"What do you want? Miss Valliere."
"Here! Please allow me to make the call once more! I won't make a mistake this time." And all this freaking Emptiness. The chaotic little girl. I was unlucky with the summoner.
The man in the black robe, who was called Mr. Colbert, shook his head:
   "It is forbidden. Miss Valliere."
"Why is that?! He's just a commoner."
"That's the custom. When you are transferred to the second year of study, you summon a familiar. That's exactly what's happening today. We're all here to summon our familiars."
"So what? You know that I have all the magic through my ass." That's why the other magicians treated me quite leniently. It's a good thing I have magical abilities at all, otherwise my father actually thought that my mother had been out with her guardsman.
"Based on the appearance of a familiar, you will be assigned future qualities and, in addition, a special training program that you will follow. You cannot change a once-summoned familiar. After all, the Familiar's Spring Summoning is a sacred ritual. Regardless of whether you like it or not, there's nothing you can do about him becoming your familiar."
"However! I've never heard of a commoner becoming a familiar!"
As soon as I said that, there was laughter all around again. I glowered at the crowd. Nevertheless, the laughter did not stop. Yeah, it's been a long time since I've been in the face of my classmates. Although it didn't look serious, a girl in armor and with two blades against a sorcerer. Although the same Gish took a lot from me at first, until he calmed down.
Saito realized that he was in an extremely difficult situation.
"It's a tradition. Miss Valliere. Exceptions are not allowed. He..." Colbert pointed at Saito "An ordinary commoner, it seems, but since he is called, he must become your familiar. At all times and throughout the world, there are no examples where a person has become a familiar, however, the rules of the Familiar's Spring Summoning ceremony in this case are more weighty than all other rules. He won't be able to avoid becoming your familiar. Enter into a contract.
"Such a fucker..." my shoulders immediately slumped. "I was hoping at least for a cat or a toad."
   "So now, continue the ceremony."
"what? With him?" I still couldn't believe the injustice of the world, even though I should have gotten used to it in five years.
"Exactly. Hurry up. The next lesson has already started, hasn't it? How much time do you think you spent on the draft? Over and over again, making mistakes over and over again, you were eventually able to make the call. Listen, make a deal faster!"
"That's right, that's right!" there were shouts from the crowd. "We're already late as long as we can delay."
Feeling awkward, I stared at Saito's face.
"Hey," I called out to Saito gloomily.
   "Yes?"
"You, be grateful to me. Because in your entire life, nothing will happen that a noblewoman will do for you now."
I closed my eyes, resigned to the fact that the whole class was staring at us. Damn, kissing him in front of everyone now. His concern is clearly going to skyrocket. And it's not just him, Guiche might start hitting on him again.
I waved the small wand in my hand in front of Saito's face.
"My name is Louise Francoise Le Blanche de La Valliere," I said my Tristan name. "A pentagram that controls the five elements. Give this person a blessing and make him my familiar."
I began to chant the words of the spell loudly. She lightly touched Saito's forehead with her wand. Then she slowly brought her lips closer.
   "Wh-what are you doing?!"
"Listen, just don't move." I said wearily, sounding annoyed.
   The guy's face came closer.
"Wait, that's me, being mentally prepared and everything else..." The boy was fussing. His face twitched.
"That's it! Didn't I tell you not to move!"
I firmly grabbed Saito's chin with my left hand. And she pulled him to her.
   "what?"
   "mm"...
   My lips connected with Saito's.
The touch of my soft lips made Saito even more confused.
Saito lay there, unable to move. Damn, not only am I kissing an incomprehensible commoner in front of everyone, I'm also lying on the grass. Well, my clothes are enchanted against dirt.

I pulled away from his lips.
   "It's finished."
"I'm the one who's confused. Not you at all! To suddenly pounce with kisses!" However, I was completely oblivious to Saito.
It was as if the kiss had never happened. He surrendered to me, if it weren't for the tradition of kissing a familiar before signing a contract, nothing would have broken off for the guy.
"You've made countless mistakes with the Summon a Henchman spell, but you've managed to accurately execute the Contract with a Henchman spell", Colbert said with visible joy on his face.
"She managed to conclude a contract because her partner is a commoner."
"If he turned out to be a high-level mystical animal, she would not have been able to conclude any contract."
Several students laughed and said similar phrases.
I scowled at them. So I won't sell any more potions to you two. Buy from licensed alchemists for a high price in the city.
They sell my potions there, too, by the way, but I'm usually too lazy to go to the city. I have a few regular customers at the academy and a bunch of random ones who urgently need to: "Well, you can make us a potion, it's urgent... Well, Luisa."
"Don't make a fool of me! After all, I do everything right from time to time!" What's most unpleasant is that the dragon charms that relate to void magic here are working fine for me, but the elemental magic is full of seams.
"Exactly that `from time to time'. Louise-Zeriza," A girl with beautiful curly hair and freckles on her face spoke mockingly.
"Mr. Colbert! Montmorency Wet insulted me!"
"Who are you calling `Wet'?! I am Montmorency the Fragrant!" Come on, darling, finally challenge me to a duel. I'll add another light right now.
"There were stories that you used to pee in bed when you were a kid, weren't there? `Wet' suits you better!"
"How dare you say that?! Louise is a Zero! Although you yourself are zero!"
"Well, finally challenge me to a duel, Wet!"
"Go to the forest, I won't fight with you, crazy warrior. I'm a witch, not a warrior, unlike you.
"Hey, listen up! Nobles should respect each other." The middle-aged magician Colbert calmed the two quarreling. Damn, I was hoping she'd challenge me to a duel. After the next chopped-up body of a magician in the infirmary, they simply forbade me to challenge the first students to a duel. And the royal chancellery looks askance at ordinary fights between nobles.
"Ahh! Aaaaaaaaa!" The boy jumped up involuntarily. "It's hot!"
I spoke in a tone of irritation:
"It's over now. Wait, that's it. It's just the Familiar's Runes that are being engraved."
"Don't engrave anything! Why are you mocking my body?!"
"You got into the portal yourself, you idiot. Do you think it's acceptable for a commoner to talk to a noble like that?"
However, the burning only lasted a few seconds. Then his body calmed down again.
   "Oh..."
Colbert approached Saito, who had fallen to his knees, and checked the back of his left hand. Previously unseen writings were intertwined there. To be more precise, is it writing? A never-before-seen drawing resembling a writhing snake.
"Unusual runes," said the middle-aged man. Saito persisted in thinking that we were just pretending to be magicians. "Okay, everyone's going back to the auditorium."
Colbert turned on his heel and took off into the air. I looked at the teacher with envy, and with a sigh, I put my wand away, I'll have to run damn, or walk, this elemental magic has given up on me. Anyway, I can't do anything because of the emptiness. All of my spells work as combat spells. That's also why they're afraid to duel with me, because they know that I can use something as simple as a combat spell.
Saito stared at it with his mouth agape. All the other students from our group also took to the air at the same time.
Saito was looking for the cables. I was looking for a mobile crane. However, the surrounding area was too open. There was no visible equipment for performing tricks and tricky tricks anywhere. The guy sat with his mouth open and stared at my flying classmates.
The entire floating group flew like feathers straight towards the castle-like building made of stone.
"Louise, you walk. I'm afraid of you when you let out your wings. There's nothing to scare people."
"She won't even be able to perform a Levitation spell correctly, let alone a Flight spell." Montmorency, you'll definitely run into me when the teachers aren't looking. You've been pushing yourself for half a year now, but I don't have the patience for steel.
"This commoner is very suitable for you as a familiar!"
"You'd think your toad was much better, Nels."
Laughing at me, my classmates flew away. Well, let them laugh, I remember the most talkative ones, and I'll do nasty things to them quietly. Why is Kirche just arguing with me instead of running into me? Because I got it in my freshman year. Sometimes I even ask her to help me heat the bath water. At least the servants wash their clothes. Although she only heats the tub for a couple of passes with a stick, it's still fiery.
The only ones left were Saito and me.
As soon as we were left alone, I sighed.
Turning to the boy, I shouted in a loud voice:
"Who are you anyway?! Horny asshole, what do you mean, you want to make out with that chick again?!"
`Is she reading my mind?!' The boy thought dumbfounded.
   "At least explain something!"
"Horror, I don't know which wilderness you came from, but I'll explain everything to you."
"The wilderness? It's a wilderness all around. Tokyo is not such a backwater like here!"
"Tokyo? So, which country is it? Did you even come from Earth?"
   "Japan. Well, yes, the Earth."
"It's fucking simple. Is she around here or something? So, what's the year of our Lord?" Well, maybe it's not that bad, and the Reapers aren't here.
"2006. You're kidding! And why are they flying in the air?! You saw it too, didn't you?! They flew! Those people!"
   However, I remained completely unperturbed.
   - In this world, flying mages and ships are the order of the day. The Albion continent is floating in the air.
"Magicians? What the fuck is this place?!" Saito shouted, grabbing my shoulders.
"The continent of Halgenia. The State of Tristain! So this is the famous Tristain Academy of Magic!"
   "The Academy of Magic?"
"I am a second-year student, Louise de La Valliere. The third daughter of the Duke of Le Valliere. And from this day on, I am your mistress. Remember!"
   The strength left Saito's body.
Because he had a terrible, nasty feeling.
   "Well... Louise.
   "What else?"
   "Was I really called?"
"Didn't I tell you? Countless times. I've already got my teeth full. Accept it already. Because I'll accept it too. Eh, why is my familiar such a jerk with neither combat skills nor magical abilities? It would be great if it was something more stylish and cool. Dragon. Or a griffin. Or Manticore. Or at least an eagle. Or an owl. I was counting on the cat at all. A warm, fluffy cat. Their world is not far away.
"Dragon or griffin- what do you mean?"
"Oh, if one of them could become my familiar, that would be great. That's what I mean. But that's not going to happen anymore."
   "Do they really exist?"
   "They exist. What's the matter?"
"Are you cheating?" Saito said and laughed. However, I didn't smile.
"Well, that's probably because you haven't seen them before." I said in a voice that held amazement.
Damn, man, you got into a clearly magical world on the call of a mythical entity and you're still getting out.
"It doesn't look like she's joking. If you put together the recently departed magicians and these fantasy phrases." The guy's back felt cold. An icy sweat was running down her body.
   I finally believed it.
"Since you're flying, probably... That's why I was thinking, are you all really magicians?"
"Exactly. If you understand that, take your hands off my shoulders! After all, you have no right to talk to me like that!"
As the future Viscountess, I had to keep a distance between myself and the commoners. How it infuriated me at first, but then I got used to it. I just formed a mask by making a copy of my older sister and wearing it.
Saito's legs went weak, and he knelt down. In a weak voice, the boy said:
   "Louise."
   "Don't you dare disrespect me."
   "Hit me."
" what? Are you a masochist?"
"Hit me on the head with all your might."
"Well, definitely a stupid masachist. What for?"
"I want to wake up faster. When I wake up, I'll go Internet. Rice and fish for dinner tonight. Mom warned me this morning."
Damn, he's from Japan, and they're all obsessed with raw fish and rice. What should I feed him? Okay, I'll send the servants to the kitchen to figure something out.
"The Internet? Do you still not believe me?"
"Do not pay attention. After all, you are an image that appeared to me in a dream, and therefore there is no need to worry. Anyway, give me a chance to wake up."
"But still, what a beauty I dream of, I would have made a mess of it."
"Well, I'm going to hit you now, worried."
I clenched my fist, pumping strength into my body.
   "Yes, please."
The blow to the head took the guy by surprise, and he collapsed back onto the grass like a log. Damn, he's a little squishy, but we were tougher at the Hunter Academy. A trickle of blood was flowing down Saito's head from the split skin.
Releasing my wings, I grabbed the guy by the scruff of the neck and dragged him towards the academy. In it, I handed the boy over to the servants and ordered them to feed him as soon as he wakes up and take him to my room, we'll talk in the evening. I have to go to class. Well, at least I had time for runistics and potions. There were only ten of us in these lessons from all over the stream. Most of the magicians don't want to mess with them.
   ***
I was holding a bun from dinner in my hand. And she gloomily finished it. Damn, the dough is too dry again, what are they doing in the kitchen? The familiar and his mistress were sitting on chairs at the table opposite each other. Saito complained about the food, like meat and potatoes, how do you eat it? And so for twenty minutes he whined about healthy food in Japan.
We were sitting in my dorm room. The area of the room was about twenty square meters. If we assume that the window is facing south, then there was a bed on the west wall, and a door on the north wall. There was a large wardrobe near the east wall. All the pieces of furniture looked like valuable antiques to Saito. I also partitioned off the room with partitions to install an alchemy laboratory, which I bought with the money I begged from my mother.
She was really glad that at least I was good at alchemy. As it is, my allowance is quite small. And you also need to look beautiful and correspond to your status at the balls held at school.
Saito, who had woken up from a faint, was brought here by the servants. The boy answered, rubbing his aching head.
`How my head hurts, which was recently hit.'
"Are you serious? That you're from another world?"
"Well, what will a lie do for me, think for yourself? I just entered your portal, kso, who knew that."
Saito hadn't thought about his curiosity with reproach until today. From my window, in addition to the night sky, I could see the plain where Saito had recently been lying. On the other side of the plain, there were huge mountains illuminated by the moonlight. A lush forest could be seen to the right. Saito sighed. Compared to the forests seen in Japan, this one was completely different. There were no such vast forests of evergreen trees in Japan.
Saito and I got to this room by passing through the Academy, which looks like a medieval castle. The scenery around him was such that if it was an ordinary tourist trip, Saito would be in high spirits. He really liked the maid girl. Not like this bug reading his mind.
The arch of the gate, made of stone, massive stairs, also made of stone...
This is Tristain's Academy of Magic, as Louise explained. The Academy is a boarding school where students live in dormitories. The Academy is a boarding school where students live in dormitories.
Saito thinks it's a prank and tries to find hidden cameras and a microphone, for which he gets kicked in the balls. He got to me, that's why the fuck he started kissing me again?
Saito explains that he is a familiar and will only return home feet first. They also describe his duties and that he will sleep on the floor on a mattress. You don't seem to be a magician.
   "So you're a commoner, aren't you?"
Such preoccupied people should be put in their place right away, otherwise they will not understand later. I remember it from my gang in Vancouver.
I take the guy to the household unit and demand a mattress, explaining that the guy is my familiar, even though he is a commoner. Inform all the other servants. Saito drags the mattress on his back and swears to himself.
"Louise, is it possible to eat something with fish?"
For which he gets a slap on the head.
"How many times do I tell you I'm Louise le Valliere or the hostess? The kitchen was already closed while you were passed out in the pantry. I didn't really have dinner myself because of you. I was worried that I'd broken the idiot's head.
Saito is homesick, but is already thinking about how to hook up with Luisai. At least in my dreams. For which he gets kicked in the balls again.

Chapter 2: Louise-Zeriza

Saito stared at me sleeping, then woke me up by pulling off the blanket at 5 a.m.
"What the fuck? What's the matter?!"
"Morning. Lady." `Calling her mistress is ugh.'
"Aa? th-that's how... Who are you anyway!?" I exclaimed, half asleep.
   "Hiraga Saito."
What the fuck is some Japanese kid doing in my room? And damn, I summoned him yesterday. I sat down and looked at her watch on the table.
"Ah, the familiar. Exactly. I summoned you yesterday. It would be better to really summon a cat or a rat like Director Osmon's."
I yawned. Damn, it's five in the morning, that's a lark.
"If you wake me up again before the bell rings, you'll get kicked in the balls again. Or should I leave you hungry?"
Then she ordered Saito to bring her clothes. Saito grumbled and handed it over.
`Now I'll see her naked or in a bra. Oh...'
"Get out you pervert, and get the fuck out of the room, you horny jerk."
I started getting dressed. Dark grey trousers, white blouse, black vest. All with protective runes. She pulled her hair back into a high ponytail, with strands of hair hanging on the sides of her head.
   ***
When Saito left the room after Louise's shout, he found three wooden, identical-looking doors arranged in a row on the wall of the corridor. One of the doors opened, and a girl with red hair like a blazing fire appeared. She was taller than Louise, and her height was almost as tall as Saito's. She exuded such sexiness that you could suffocate. Her expressive face and protruding breasts were charming. Her breasts looked like melons. `Fucking gorgeous.'
The red-haired beauty had the top two buttons of her blouse undone, which made it imperative to look at her breasts. His gaze was involuntarily drawn to the hollow between them. Her dark skin exuded a sense of health and wild sexuality. Height, skin color, surrounding aura, breast size... It was the exact opposite of what Louise had. However, there was no difference in charm.
I left the room stretching. When the red-haired girl saw Saito's mistress, she smiled maliciously:
   "Good morning, Lou."
She made a displeased grimace and returned the greeting with visible disgust:
"Good morning. Kirche. How long can I shorten my name?"
"Is your familiar this one, or did you decide to take my advice and use the services of at least a common servant?" Pointing at Saito, the neighbor spoke in a mocking tone.
"The familiar is also a horny guy, damn it, so you can add it to your collection. Bad luck. You know I have all my spells through my ass. It would have been better not to call anyone at all, but to take one of my father's guards as my sister advised. They say you're going to summon some kind of freak with your focus anyway. I really didn't understand what she meant."
"Well, at least he's trained to handle a gun. If you mean a commoner."
"Then a magician will come to serve me. How so."
"I also summoned a familiar yesterday. And, unlike some, the spell was successful on the first attempt."
   "Hmm, brag."
"After all, it's great to have him as my familiar. The flame!"
Kirche called out to her familiar in a triumphant voice. A large bright red lizard slowly emerged from her room. Hot air surrounded Saito.
"Wow, you! A bright red unknown creature!" The boy recoiled in panic.
   Kirche laughed:
"Oh-ho-ho! Is this probably the first time you've seen a salamander?"
I hid my smile with my palm from the sight of the dumbfounded familiar.
"You should have chained her up! She's dangerous, isn't she?! And by the way, what is it?!"
"Calmness. She won't attack unless I order her to. Little coward."
Kirche put her finger on her chin and cocked her head coquettishly.
The lizard was two meters long. The tail consisted of blazing fire. The flame coming out of his mouth seemed to be hot. I bent down and scratched the salamander under the chin.
"Don't you feel hot being around her?" Saito asked. Calming down, he carefully examined the beast.
"As for me, it's so cool."
"A fire salamander, right?" I asked, feeling annoyed at my summons. "Damn, I wanted a cat so much. Colbert promised me yesterday to get a red or striped pet. Let it be an ordinary cat, well, at least something. I'll put him in the familiar's cubicle, Saito is sleeping on the mattress next to my bed anyway."
"Exactly! The salamander! See? That tail. Its flame is so bright and large that it is undoubtedly a salamander from the Fiery Dragon Ridge. A famous breed. If you show it to an amateur, he won't appreciate it! And Lou, an ordinary cat will be just right for you, and this familiar of yours will be thrown into the kitchen by the maids. Rumor has it that he looked at them."
"It's a pleasure," Louise said in a bitter voice.
"I think it's amazing. Exactly for my abilities!"
"Your ability is the element of Fire, right?" The dumbfounded Saito decided to clarify.
"Yes. My runic name is Kirche Smoldering. This means that passion burns with restraint. However, this makes it easy to turn the boys' heads. Unlike you, right, Lou?"
Kirche puffed out her chest triumphantly. I did the same thing on full automatic, however, unfortunately, the sizes were too different. Damn, all normal boys fall for it.
Damn, maybe I should really eat cabbage, as John advised me at the shelter. I still remember my stunned face when I saw him at the N7 Academy.
Although I'm already used to having small breasts, it's more comfortable to wear armor with them.
"I just don't have time to waste my charm in front of everyone like you do. Besides, it's not my title."
Kirche smiled sweetly. She was cool about it. Although I often told her that she was acting like a wench. Then she looked at Saito carefully:
   "What's your name?"
   "Hiraga Saito."
"Hiraga Saito? It's a strange name."
"Are you nagging? I'm from Japan."
"Japan, I've never heard of it. Okay, I'm sorry to leave you" After saying that, Kirche fixed her red hair that looked like fire and walked majestically down the corridor. The salamander hurried after its owner, its paws ridiculously small for such a large body.
As soon as Kirche disappeared, I clenched my fists:
"That slut, damn, she's got a real salamander from Dragon Ridge!"
"It's okay, isn't it? Some kind of appeal."
"Nothing good! At least, they say: to assess the real power of a magician, take a look at his familiar! Why does this fool have a salamander and I have you?! An ordinary person."
"My fault. Because I'm a human being. But you're human too, aren't you?"
"The difference between a magician and a commoner is like the difference between a wolf and a dog!" I said smugly, turning up my nose. At least I have some fighting skills, unlike you. Like most of my father's guardsmen. And anyway, pick up your drool, you might get something with Kirche, but then she'll leave you."
"Why did Kirche call you Zero?"
"Yes, because I have all the magic going through my ass, I'm just great at alchemy."
The guy started laughing. For which he got a kick in the head and a message that he was going without breakfast today.
   ***
The dining hall at the Tristain Academy of Magic was located in the Main Tower, which was the tallest of all the buildings of the school, and was located in the very center of the territory. Inside the dining room, three long tables stood parallel to each other. Each stream has its own one. I went to the middle table, and Saito followed me.
I sat down next to Tabitha and helped myself to some oatmeal porridge with milk. And a plate of scrambled eggs with herbs and bacon. The only common clothes we had were raincoats. And girls have blouses and boys have shirts. The rest is at your discretion.
Of the common clothes, we had only colored raincoats, depending on the year of study. And the girls have white blouses and the boys have shirts. The rest is at your discretion.
The second floor was located above the first floor in the form of a gallery. The teachers were visible there, having a pleasant conversation.
All the tables were lavishly decorated.
Countless candles were set up, flowers were placed, and there were baskets filled with fruits. And between them were pots of porridge with milk and large silver dishes with omelets. There are jugs of herbal tea nearby.
Noticing Saito standing with his mouth agape, who was amazed by the splendor of the dining room, I smugly raised my finger and spoke. My gray eyes sparkled mischievously.
"Tristain's Academy of Magic teaches not only magic, but also etiquette."
   "Good."
"The magicians are mostly nobles. The basis of the basics is: `Using magic, a noble builds his soul,' and those who are nobles get enough of the necessary knowledge. Therefore, the dining room should also be a suitable place for nobles."
   "Good."
"Understood? To tell the truth, a commoner like you wouldn't dare enter the Alvis Dining Hall in his entire life. So, be grateful."
   "Good. What is Alvis?"
"The name of the little man. I believe there are many statues of him around." To confirm my words, there were carefully executed sculptures of a little man standing in a row against the wall.
"It's a delicate job. Listen, don't they move at midnight?"
   "You're too knowledgeable."
"Are they moving? I just asked out of stupidity."
"To be more precise, they're dancing," Louise said, crossing her arms.
I tilted my head sharply to the side, and at the same time my long light pink hair swayed.
I pulled out a chair for myself and then sat down. The familiar also pulled out a chair for himself and sat down.
"Saito, familiars are not allowed to eat in the cafeteria. Go to the kitchen."
"What the hell, I'll eat here too."
"Well, whatever you want, but if you're kicked off the table in disgrace as a commoner, I have nothing to do with it and I won't interfere."
The rays of dawn still slid across the dining benches, picking out the gleam of the cutlery and the golden crust on the slices of bread from the gloom.
In the dining room of the Tristain Academy, the morning went on as usual: someone was hurriedly finishing tea, someone was arguing about yesterday's spells, and somewhere, as always, a small storm was breaking out.
"Zero, keep your pet away from the table of the nobles."
"Lester, don't push yourself, although he really has nothing to do at the table."
"Here's kso, I'm probably really going to the kitchen. Damn, it hurts." Saito grumbled, rubbing his bruised butt.
"Go straight down the corridor, then turn left, there will be a door that smells delicious and grab me something meaty. At least sandwiches. Damn, there's almost no bacon in this omelet. But I want meat."
Tabitha, as usual, settled into her quiet corner, a little to the side, where neither drafts nor other people's conversations interfered. In front of her was a thin volume on the theory of air flow, next to it was a cup of herbal tea. She turned the page without looking up, and tilted her head slightly, as if she wanted to merge into the silence. Those minutes were precious to her: while the others were busy, she had time to read a few paragraphs before classes started.
And a few steps away from this island of tranquility, I was fighting again, this time with breakfast. The porridge had already been eaten, and now I was finishing the omelet.
"There's three pathetic slices of bacon here!" I muttered, poking at the omelet with my fork as if I hoped to find a whole platter of meat underneath. "Is this bullying? We are future magicians, not... monks of some kind!"
Tabitha put down her book and handed me some cheese and smoked pork sandwiches.
"Here's Lou, I brought you some food from the kitchen yesterday when I was taking it for my familiar. The portions are really small for you, why haven't you told the school administration yet that you're a dragon and you need meat?"
"When my father saw that I was changing into a dragon, he told me not to tell anyone that I was a void magician and could transform into a dragon. I still don't understand how you found out."
"Well, I'm not blind, but seriously, I saw you when I was walking in the woods."
"Damn, what if someone else saw it?"
"By the way, I still don't understand why you and Gish broke up?"
"Because he's a womanizer, he hasn't had enough yet, and I actually have a fiance."
"You were talking about your Viscount. I don't understand what you see in him."
"He's the only one who didn't laugh at me, and even then he was younger, just like me."
I ate an omelet, stuffing it with sandwiches, at least there would be chicken for lunch and roast for dinner.

The classrooms at the Magic Academy were similar to lecture halls at universities. If it occurred to you that the rooms were also made of stone, then this is mostly true. The teacher-wizard leading the lecture was located at the lowest level of the auditorium, and the seating areas were placed like stairs. When Saito and I entered, the students who had come to the classroom earlier all turned towards us.
And they started laughing. Kirche, whom the couple had met earlier, was also here. She was surrounded by boys on all sides. The students around her revered her as a queen. Everyone came accompanied by a variety of familiars.
Kirche's salamander was fast asleep under her chair. There were students with owls perched on their shoulders. A giant snake was peeking through the window into the room. One of the boys whistled, and the snake hid its head. There were also crows. And cats. Damn, I want a cat, I bent down and stroked the gray striped kitty.
"Hey, Louise, this is my familiar!"
"I'll just stroke it, it won't explode, Meli."
"Well, look, if something happens to him, I will demand a vira."
"Yes I understand. I love cats. And I got such a commoner that it's terrible."
We went to my place surrounded by empty chairs. Guiche was sitting next to me, and he wasn't so afraid of me, even though he joked behind my back that I should have been born a warrior.
Well, yes, I gave his fighting skills to the valkyries. He sculpted them from me.
There was a lizard with six legs. A giant eyeball floated in the air. What is it? The boy asked me:
   "What is this eyeball monster?"
   "The beholder."
I remember they often lived in goblin settlements in Rivelon.
   "But that eight-legged merman?"
"The skua." I replied in a sullen voice and sat down in one of the seats. Saito sat down next to her. I glared at him.
"Wasn't the fight in the cafeteria enough for you?"
   "What's the matter?"
These are places for magicians. Familiars are not allowed to sit on them.
Saito sat down on the floor, disappointed. "Holy shit," he thought, and sat down on the chair again.
He'll have to at least buy a rug or ask our quartermaster.
I glanced at my familiar and looked around the classroom.
   - Just sit down today, then I'll get you a soft rug.
   "Thank you, lady."
The door opened and a new teacher entered the classroom.
It was a middle-aged woman. She was wrapped in a purple robe and had a hat on her head. Her plump cheeks created an atmosphere of kindness around her.
"Is this woman a sorceress too?" Saito muttered to me.
"Isn't it obvious?" I replied in an indignant voice. The woman looked around the audience, then smiled with visible pleasure and said:
"'Guys. It looks like the Familiar's Spring Summoning was quite successful. Thus, in the new spring semester, I, Chevreuse, get great pleasure from contemplating various familiars."
   I looked down shyly.
"Oh, my. You've summoned an unusual familiar. Miss Valliere," Upon seeing Saito, Chevreuse spoke in a joking voice, after which the room immediately filled with laughter.
"Louise is a Zero! Don't drag this commoner bum just because you can't do the summoning!"
"Fuck you! This is my henchman!"
"Don't lie! It looks like you haven't been able to master the Summon a Sidekick spell!"
The students in the audience roared with laughter.
"Mrs. Chevreuse! I've been insulted! Malicorne insulted me with a cold! Can I challenge him to a duel and chop him down?"
"No, Miss Valliere, you've already stabbed five wizards."
I slammed my clenched fist on the desk.
"What kind of Cold? I am the Malicorne of the Wind! I haven't caught any colds!"
"You have a hoarse voice, just like someone with a cold!"
The student, named Malicorne, jumped up and glared at me. Come on, call me, you idiot. I grinned at him. Chevreuse waved the small wand she was holding in her hand. That idiot and I jumped to our feet like puppets whose strings had snapped, and were noisily dropped into our seats.
"Miss Valliere. Mr. Malicorne. Please stop this ugly argument!"
I lowered my head dejectedly. The smug behavior that I had been displaying until recently has disappeared. Damn, I shouldn't have cut the last one to death, but he really got to me.
"You can't call your friends a Zero or a Cold. Do you understand?"
"Mrs. Chevreuse. The fact that I have a cold is a common slander, but Louise-Zero is a reality."
   There was a giggle.
Mrs. Chevreuse gave the audience a stern look. And she waved her wand. The mouths of the giggling students were plugged with red clay that appeared from nowhere.
"Young people, attend the class in this form. Otherwise, I will allow the duel between you and Louise Frenchoise to happen again."
The giggles subsided. The students looked at the teacher in horror with their mouths gagged.
   "So, let's start the lesson."
Mrs. Chevreuse cleared her throat solemnly, and then waved her wand. A few pebbles appeared on the table.
"My runic name is "Red Clay". Chevreuse Red Clay. From now on, I will be teaching everyone a course on Earth-related magic for a year. Do you know the four main elements of magic? Mr. Malicorne."
"Y-yes. Mrs. Chevreuse. It's Fire, Earth, Water and Wind!"
I've always been good at water and air spells in my past lives, with ice magic at the junction. And here, because of this damned emptiness, everything explodes. I can only fly with my wings extended like an angel's. And the people are scared.
Well, at least the screams in dragon form work as they should, and the spells of the school of illusions. In general, the school of reason is well given.
   The teacher nodded.
"According to what everyone knows, if you add the now-lost magical element of Emptiness, there are five elements in total. Among them, in my opinion, the Earth element occupies the most important position. And it's not that I specialize in this element. I don't have simple favoritism."
Mrs. Chevreuse cleared her throat solemnly again.
"So, the magic of the Earth element is an important magic that governs the formation of everything in the world. Without this magic, we would not be able to produce and process the necessary metals. If we didn't know how to use spells to build houses by crushing huge stones, or harvest crops, then I think it would take more work and time compared to current processes. Accordingly, the magic of the Earth element is closely connected with the life of each of us."
`Ah, in this world, magic probably matches the technology from my world. Now, one way or another, the reason why Louise puts on airs is that she is a magician.'
"Now we will learn the basic magic of the Earth element together - the spell of Transformation. There were probably students who could perform this spell during their first year, but the basics are important. Let's do it again."
Chevreuse pointed the small wand she held in her hand at the pebbles, and then waved it.
And as soon as the teacher muttered a short spell, the pebbles lit up.
The glow died down, and what had been simple pebbles turned into brightly sparkling metal.
"Is this g-g-gold? Mrs. Chevreuse!" Kirche leaned forward with her whole body.
"You're wrong. It is a simple brass. Only square magicians are able to refine before obtaining gold. Because I'm simple..." Mrs. Chevreuse cleared her throat significantly and continued, "...the magic triangle..."
   "Louise!"
   Saito pushed his mistress lightly.
"What do you want?" The lesson is coming!
"What did she mean by triangles and squares?"
"This is the number of elements that can be combined in witchcraft. This determines the magician's level."
   "How is that?"
I explained in a low voice:
"Do you need an example? Although Earth element magic is suitable for simple elements, if you can add Fire element to it, then the spell will become much more powerful."
   "Really."
"Lineage magicians can combine two elements, for example, Fire and Earth. Triangle magicians like Teacher Chevreuse are able to combine three elements, for example, Earth-Earth-Fire." And I have a constant emptiness in the elements.
   "Why combine two identical ones?"
"This makes this element more powerful."
"Really. In short, since the teacher chatting there is a triangle magician, does that mean she is a strong sorceress?"
   "Exactly."
"Louise, how many elements can you combine?"
I stopped talking. Technically four, but it doesn't do any good.
   "Not at all, asshole."
While we were chatting like that, the teacher called out to me:
   "Miss Valliere!"
   "Y-yes?"
"Refrain from whispering during the lesson."
   "Sorry..."
"If you have time to chat, then have you learned everything?"
"You know it's useless for me to teach Mrs. Chevreuse that. Do you want me to practice again?"
"Exactly. Please turn the stones available here into metal as you wish."
I didn't get up. Feeling uncomfortable, I hesitated. Still, I feel sorry for cats, as well as Kirche's lizard.
"They seem to be talking to you. Go on," Saito urged me.
   "Miss Valliere! Something happened?"
When Chevreuse called out to me again, Kirche said in an awkward voice:
   "Mrs. Teacher."
   "What is it?"
"I think it's better to stop calling her..."
   "Why is that?"
"It's dangerous," Kirche said flatly. Almost everyone in the audience nodded.
   "Is it dangerous? Why?"
"Is this your first time teaching Louise?"
"However, I have heard that she is a diligent student. So, Miss Valliere. Don't worry, and please try to complete the task. Fearing your own failures, you won't achieve anything, will you?"
"Louise, stop!" Kirche shouted with a deathly pale face.
   However, I stood up:
"I will do. It's better to show it once. Gentlemen and ladies, please remove your familiars from the audience, all who remain will be on your conscience."
My classmates looked at each other and, horrified, began to send their familiars away and hide under the tables.
I walked briskly to the teacher's desk with a tense expression on my face.
Mrs. Chevreuse, who was standing next to me, smiled at me warmly. I see her smile in practice for the last time, then there will be a wary expression of a frightened face. Just like the other teachers who use elemental magic.
"Miss Valliere. Clearly imagine in your mind the metal you want to receive."
Nodding sweetly, I imagined steel and waved the yew wand I was holding in my hand.
My light pink hair sparkled in the morning sunlight coming through the window. The eyes are gray in color, which resemble precious stones. The skin is so white that it appears invisible. A chiseled nose that makes me feel my noble origin...
I disconnected from the picture that Saito saw from his seat.

However, contrary to such dreams of the familiar, the students sitting in the front rows for some reason hid under the chairs. I closed my eyes, cast a short spell, and waved my wand.
At that moment, the pebbles exploded along with the table. I don't care, I'm under a combat aura, and my clothes are enchanted.
After being completely hit by the blast wave, Mrs. Chevreuse was thrown back against the blackboard. A shout went up. I stood with my wand raised and smiled happily at the Person with a cold. And the rest of the students who have forgotten what I am.
The auditorium was covered in soot and glittered with broken windows.
There was a hell of a commotion in the audience. Kirche stood up and pointed her finger at me:
"That's why I told you! Don't force her to do the task!"
"That's it! Expel Valliere from the Academy!"
   Saito was stunned.
Mrs. Chevreuse continued to lie motionless. However, since she was twitching convulsively sometimes, it seemed like she hadn't died.
I'm not paying attention to the commotion in the audience...
Wiping my face, stained with soot, with a handkerchief taken out of my pocket, I said in an indifferent voice:
"Oops, it looks like a small mistake."
Naturally, there was a fierce counterattack from the other students:
"Small, of course! Louise is a Zero! You can only brew potions and swing swords."
"The probability of your success is always close to zero, isn't it?!"
"Zelyony, I won't sell you any more potions either."
"I'm still silent, I'm sorry, Miss Valliere."
   "Apologies accepted, Mr. Nelens."
Saito finally understood why his mistress was being called a Jerk. The lessons were disrupted. Saito and I were left to clean the office, and the injured were dragged to the hospital wing.
