A siren's call, a fading light,
Like lustreless daguerrotype
Sharp features carved, a knowing gaze,
Lost in her dreams through endless days
A perfect world, a sweet confine,
With treasured things eternally thine
A saint's calm hands at peaceful rest,
A muse's heart within her chest
She sees within, and far away
And poet's soul is in disarray
To live forever, legends say,
You must surrender to decay
Where did she go, the girl i knew?
On shores of Lethe she"s drinking dew?
Or lies beneath, where earth is deep?
Photographs still her secrets keep
Postmortem chic, dull silk and lace
And shadows flicker on her face
