A Cheerful Ambassador. A story.
Music plays. A numerous cheerful guests in sparkling attire are arrived.
A New Year's reception is being held at the Embassy.
An extensive cultural program - creative persons of all disciplines and directions have arrived from the native country.
The Ambassador listens to the music and exchanges glances with the Queen of Beauty.
"Wait a moment, Sir!" the Ambassador hears a whisper from somewhere behind him.
He turns around. Behind him is a colleague from Belil, an African country,-an expert in African cults and African magic. He has prophetic dreams. Previously, all were distrustful of him. But a few years ago, he had a prophetic dream about the president (former) of a Middle Eastern country. Since then, his prophetic dreams have been viewed with trust.
"I had a dream," the colleague from Belil says. He tells the Ambassador his prophetic dream.
The Ambassador feels something strange: his kneecaps begin to tremble, bouncing up and down, up and down, on their own, independently of his knees. He must urgently to say goodbye to guests and to rush to the Palace!
But in the next hall, dishes are being served. And the Queen of Beauty, with a perfect figure, dressed in a bright blue dress, looks at the Ambassador with a gentle smile.
Going now, immediately, to the Palace? It's beyond his strength. "I'll go after the New Year's reception," the Ambassador decides.
He makes a gesture to the connoisseur of folk musical instruments. Music (unusual for these parts) starts to play. The Ambassador effortlessly performs a dance unusual for these parts.
The Queen of Beauty is enchanted. Her face is flushed. Her eyes sparkle. She looks longingly at the Ambassador.
The symphony orchestra plays. "Ride of the Valkyries."
Suddenly, everyone hears a roar-as if fifty heavy helicopters were flying over the Embassy. It's a nice idea!
The roar stops. Waiters serve champagne. The Ambassador takes a sip and fixes his gaze on the Queen of Beauty. She seems ready.
The Ambassador gestures again. A famous singer sings:
"And I'm coming to meet you
And I am bringing you flowers
As towards the only beauty queen in the world."
Another roar fills the hall. As if fifty heavy helicopters were flying over the embassy. A shadow flies over New Year's reception participants. Apparently, people from the theater world have staged a performance: a coffin (containing cultural figures) flies out of the theater building and flies off in an unknown direction.
The Ambassador glances at the guests. A colleague from Belil whispers something to a colleague from Freedom Island. He must have had a prophetic dream about Freedom Island.
"Yes," the Ambassador thinks, "I need to wish a Happy New Year for my nice friend (whom the Ambassador met at the Ministry before his new appointment) ." They went through the interviews and the personnel screening together.
There, on Freedom Island, they have excellent beaches and a good healthcare. Now, in the winter, during the holidays, that's invaluable! "I'll wish him a happy New Year!"
"Make a phone call to the Embassy in the Freedom Island," the Ambassador whispers to his assistant. "I want to wish a Happy New Year!"
The assistant takes out his smartphone and dials the number. There's no connection! Several attempts to connect. No connection.
The assistant runs out of the hall and returns a minute later: "I found out: there's no electric power there now!"
"I'll call after my visit to the Palace!" the Ambassador decides.
He makes a gesture again. He performs another dance unusual for these parts.
The Beauty Queen is ready, in whole.
It's time to invite her to the lounge (next to the office) to look at paintings by great artists.
A cheerful waltz plays. Couples dance merrily.
