Bilateral Restitution. A story.
Koka came to a civil law seminar wearing a baseball cap with the slogan "Camrad - Champion!"
The teacher entered the auditorium (room), sat down, and began taking the necessary things out of his briefcase.
The auditorium continued to fill.
Seka, Koka's buddy, entered. A gold watch with a gold bracelet glittered on the Seka's wrist. This gold watch, late yesterday, had still belonged to Koka. But last night, the buddies were talking about football players they knew. It turned out that Seka had the coolest acquaintances. Seka showed off the baseball cap, which, at first, belonged to the footballer-champion Nozdryov from the "Camrad" football club.
In the state of excitement (passion), Koka exchanged his gold watch (with a gold bracelet) for the Seka's baseball cap. The exchange took place in a large group of buddies; everyone saw it. Backing out was impossible.
Early in the morning, Koka read up, a little, the Civil Code to prepare for a civil law seminar. He felt a particular interest in the issue of a bilateral restitution.
Koka had visited the right point before class started, and now he had a medical certificate in his pocket.
The auditorium was gradually filling up. Only one minute remained before the seminar began.
Koka said loudly, "Seka, I have the important case to you!"
Everyone, including the teacher, turned their heads toward Koka.
Koka approached Seka and said, "Do you know what 'bilateral restitution' is?"
Seka shook his head. It was unclear whether Seka knew or not. But this didn't faze Koka.
" Here's the medical certificate! I couldn't comprehend the consequences of my actions yesterevening, during the exchange! Take your baseball cap back, and give me back my gold watch!"
For the first few seconds, Seka couldn't understand what was being asked of him. But Koka placed a baseball cap with the words "Camrad - Champion!" next to the medical certificate. Then Koka took Seka by the wrist and helped him remove the gold watch.
After that, the gold watch returned to Koka's wrist.
Koka, having taken the medical certificate back, returned to his desk and sat down, waiting for the seminar to begin.
The seminar was discussing civil law issues. To call up a student on the issue of the bilateral restitution, the teacher gazed into his notebook with the student list.
But Koka got the teacher ahead:
"May I answer?"
"Answer!"
"Bilateral restitution is when each party returns back what they got, acquired earlier in the transaction (deal)!"
The teacher looked at the Koka's gold watch and said:
"Well..."
The seminar moved on.
A week later, it was time for the test (pass) (a knowledge assessment - in a simplified form - after the training period).
Panic reigned among the students who had come to take the test: everyone assumed the teacher had arrived in a bad mood (in a negative mental state) - no one was able to get to get a satisfactory grade. A date was assigned for students to retake the test.
Koka went to the window and began to think.
Finally, Koka's time had come.
Koka entered the auditorium. He approached the table where the sheets with questions were lying.
Koka extended his hand, his gold watch were glittering, toward the sheets with questions, but then asked:
"Can I try - without preparation?"
The teacher emerged from his reverie and looked at Koka with interest:
"Try it!"
"Bilateral restitution is when one party receives from the other what the other party received in a transaction, but returns nothing to the other party!"
The teacher stared at Koka silently for several minutes. The confusion in his eyes gave way to the increasing interest.
Finally, the teacher said,
"You may go. You have a satisfactory grade."
Koka triumphantly walked out of the auditorium. Several students were waiting, outside the door, their turn to take their test.
Koka politely said to them,
"Who's next? Come in!"
Today, the 'Camrad' football club is playing at the Great Arena stadium. After the match, Koka will approach the footballer-champion Nozdryov and will ask him for his baseball cap. So Koka will have both a gold watch and a baseball cap with the inscription "Camrad - Champion !."
