The fairy tale of Venezuela, the fairy tale of Greenland, the practicality of Europe. An essay.
It is bitter thing - to see, - suddenly, - the end of a fairy tale.
Between attending football matches, fans watched TV: first there was the movie "Star Wars", and then the news from Venezuela.
There were worriers (fighters) in Star Wars with lightsabers. And in the news from Venezuela, Mr. Maduro manipulated with copies of Bolivar's sword. Mr. Maduro possessed enormous wealth (oil reserves), and mysterious powers were supporting him. The world public suspected that he, Mr. Maduro, was a contender for the supremacy in the Western Hemisphere.
Suddenly, Mr. Maduro's status changed, and the fairy tale was interrupted.
The world public felt herself emotionally traumatized.
But there are many basic plots for fairy tales. Many native Americans mistook the Spaniards (who sailed from overseas) for (as) gods.
This plot can compensate for the emotional trauma caused by the sudden interruption of the fairy tale of Venezuela.
Some time ago, a huge plane landed in Greenland, on which it was written in huge letters: TRUMP.
People who got off the plane walked through the streets of Greenland's capital and handed out dollar bills to local inhabitants (mostly to children).
It should be noted that the fairy tale of Greenland collided with the practicality (pragmatism) of Europe. Some Greenlanders have asked the question: what is the point of handing out dollar bills if a significant number of Greenlanders have a total annual (personal) income of about 100,000 (one hundred thousand) US dollars?
The author of "The Three Musketeers" (the son of a general of the French Revolution), came to St. Petersburg, paid respect to the tomb of French General Jean Victor Moreau, wrote a novel about Russian officers who rebelled against despotism in 1825, traveled around Russia, participated in gala dinners, and then returned to France to write new fantastic works about all kinds of wonderful people.
The general public needs fairy tales.
Let's see if the fairy tales "1000 and one nights" will develop. According to some literary critics, the characters of these tales act for absolutely no reason.
An example of a practical (pragmatic) European fairy tale might be "Little Red Riding Hood".
The brothers were born into the family of lawyer Philipp Wilhelm Grimm, in the city of Hanau. Jacob was his second son (1785-1863), Wilhelm was his third (1786-1859). Having successfully graduated from the Faculty of Law, Jacob and Wilhelm plunged headlong into a Germanistic studies. The brothers were very friendly with each other, they shared common views on the world and science, and they were most comfortable working with each other.
In their youth, their paths parted for a while. At the beginning of 1805, Jacob was invited by Friedrich Carl von Savigny to Paris, to help him in his work. In 1808 Jacob joined the service of Jérôme Bonaparte, King of Westphalia, as a librarian. Jacob attended the Congress of Vienna as Secretary of Legation in 1814-1815.
But Jacob remained faithful to science.
In 1812 brothers published their first volume of 86 folk tales.
The Grimm version of the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" is considered a classic. About how dangerous it is for little girls to walk alone in the woods and talk to strangers.
The fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" characterizes the practical (pragmatic) mindset of the inhabitants of Europe. With the separation of powers, wide information flows, and the availability of the Grimm's fairy tales, it is quite difficult to immerse of the European residents in a fairy-tale reality.
