ON THE INEXPEDIENCY TO BECOME SHERLOCK HOLMES (AT THIS MOMENT)
I have carefully read your reply, which came to me by e-mail today (March 19, 2024) at 10:25.
You (in your reply) are quoting my letter dated June 29, 2018 (I did not search for the text of this letter, I did not check the correctness of your quoting, I hope that the quote is correct): "... please leave [in your Electronic Library] the information about the availability [about the existence] of this book ...".
In Russian, there is a word "sale" ("purchase and sale"). I do not find such a word in my answer, quoted by you.
In addition, you quote my letter: "please... disable the download function."
How can you (or those, who connected with you) sell electronic copies of my book without a valid download function? I suppose that's impossible.
You are explaining your position: "only information fragments (of the book) left (took place) [but not the book in whole]."
Apparently, library visitors were able to be acquainted with these introductory fragments only after downloading. If so, then my request ("please... disable the download function") was not executed for reasons that were unclear to me. May be, to follow the hypothesis that after downloading a fragment, a visitor to your library was making a decision: to buy my book or not to buy it. With this hypothesis, there were a certain percentage of visitors who paid money for an electronic copy.
A buyer and a seller could do without downloading, provided that a seller has my "paper" books. But where would a seller get my "paper" books from?
I do not consider it advisable for myself at the moment to move to the position of Sherlock Holmes and to conduct investigations in all directions.
Anyway, I respect your library.
Please do not violate my copyrights.
I wish your library success and prosperity.
Sincerely, Vladimir Zalessky
